The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officially announced the Class 10 and 12 results this week, leaving many impressed with the remarkable passing percentage of 96.3. Shortly after the results were out, an old academic document of Virat Kohli went viral on social media. The CBSE class 10 marksheet of the Cricket Icon re-emerged after it was shared on X by IAS officer Jitin Yadav.
The document, originally shared on August 9, 2023, quickly circulated online, sparking widespread conversation for more than just its academic content. In terms of marks, Virat Kohli’s Class 10 results weren’t extraordinary, however, it served as a timely reminder that academic performance doesn’t measure your success in the future.
Had marks been the sole factor, the entire nation wouldn’t be rallying behind him now.
Passion and Dedication are the key. @imVkohli pic.twitter.com/aAmFxaghGf— Jitin Yadav (@Jitin_IAS) August 9, 2023
Kohli’s marksheet reveals that he scored 83 in English (A1 grade), 81 in Social Science (A2), and 75 in Hindi (B1). His scores in Mathematics, Science & Tech, and Introductory IT — C2, C1, and C2 respectively, reflected a more average academic performance. In his original post, Jitin Yadav shared a message for the students: “Had marks been the sole factor, the entire nation wouldn’t be rallying behind him now. Passion and Dedication are the key.”
Netizens quickly reacted to the post after it went viral, noting that marks are just numbers on paper and the real gem is hard work and dedication. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli recently announced his retirement from Test cricket after 14 years, leaving fans across the world disheartened.
