Crystal Palace pulled off a surprising 1-0 win against Man City in the FA Cup final at Wembley. Eberechi Eze scored a great volley in the 16th minute, helped by Daniel Muñoz. Even though City had the ball most of the time and created plenty of chances, including a missed penalty by Marmoush, they just couldn’t score. Dean Henderson made some key saves to keep Palace in the lead. In the end, tries from Doku, De Bruyne, and Haaland narrowly missed, but the Eagles managed to hang on for a memorable victory.
Missed Opportunities And Defensive Frailties
Man City had a tough game, and they really struggled in some areas. Marmoush missing a penalty in the 36th minute was a big moment, and Echeverri’s missed chance up close in the 82nd didn’t help either. Stars like De Bruyne and Haaland also couldn’t score when they needed to, and their defense made mistakes that let Palace take advantage early on. Things got heated in the second half, showing their frustration with four yellow cards.
What City Could Have Done Differently
Man City could’ve done better by being more sharp in front of the goal and making key decisions at the right times. If they’d brought on Gundogan earlier, it might have helped them keep better control in midfield. Also, if Marmoush and O’Reilly had made quicker decisions in the box, it could’ve led to better chances. They really needed to tighten up their defending against counters and long throws, since that’s how Palace mainly attacked, to avoid letting in that crucial goal.
