‘‘I Know Who To..’ Rahul Dravid’s Hilarious Tribute To Rohit Sharma After Stand Naming News24 –

The former Indian Head Coach Rahul Dravid congratulated Rohit Sharma after the Mumbai Cricket Association named a stand at the Wankhede Stadium in Rohit’s honour. He also joked that he now knows whom to call when he needs tickets for matches at the venue.

The stand was unveiled on Friday, with Rohit being felicitated in the presence of his family, Mumbai Indians teammates, and several dignitaries.

In a video shared by Mumbai Indians on their X handle, Dravid said:

“Hey Rohit, guess you hit so many sixes into those stands that they had to name one after you! Congratulations. I’m sure, as a young boy walking into the iconic Wankhede Stadium – truly one of the great stadiums in the world – you would have dreamed of playing there and delivering memorable performances, which you certainly have.

I’m not sure you ever imagined having a stand named after you, but now that it has happened, it’s a fitting reward for your contributions to both Mumbai and Indian cricket.”

Rohit’s journey under Dravid

Rohit began his international career under Dravid, making his debut in an ODI against Ireland on June 23, 2007. Years later, Dravid became head coach of the Indian team while Rohit was captain. The duo led India to the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup and went on to win the 2024 T20 World Cup. Earlier in 2024, they also guided India to a rare drawn Test series in South Africa.

Dravid signed off with a smile

“It’s truly well deserved – congratulations! I hope it was a wonderful day with your family and friends. Looking forward to seeing many more sixes fly into the Rohit Sharma Stand in the games to come. And now that you have a stand named after you, when I’m short on tickets in Mumbai, I know exactly whom to call!”
