Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has been performing exceptionally well in IPL 2025 and have already qualified for the playoffs. But one of the most important focus of the team will be to now stay in top 2 which can hopefully get them a direct entry in the IPL 2025 finals. To achieve this, RCB must win both of its upcoming matches against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Here’s a breakdown of their path to securing a top two finish and their playoffs journey ahead.
Win Both The Remaining Matches To Stay In Top 2
The first priority for RCB should be to win their two remaining league matches against LSG and SRH. These are must-win if they want to stay in the top 2 and get a direct entry into the IPL 2025 playoffs.
RCB will be playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 23 and against Lucknow Super Giants on May 27. Both the matches will be played at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow and both are extremely important.
Qualifier 1: A Direct Shot At The Finals
If RCB manages a top 2 finish then they will earn a privilege to play in Qualifier 1. This match would be extremely crucial as the winner will get direct entry into the finals of the IPL 2025.
Qualifier 2: The Second Chance
Even if RCB loses in Qualifier 1, they won’t be eliminated from the tournament and will get a chance to play against the winner of Eliminator. Hence, Qualifier 2 will be a do or die match and RCB can still qualify for finals.
RCB’s Strong Squad In IPL 2025
RCB already has a very strong squad, it has the most lethal batting lineup with Phil Salt and Virat Kohli coming as openers. This is followed by a strong middle order having big names like Rajat Patidar and Jitesh Sharma. The finishing duo of Tim David and Romario Shepherd is truly to watch out for.
In bowling, Krunal Pandya has taken RCB out of pressure always, Suyvash Sharma has been incredible in keeping the situation tight for batters and if Josh Hazlewwod is available then the pace department will be stronger than ever.
