MI One Step Closer To Trophy
After winning the eliminators against the Gujarat Titans, the Mumbai Indians will play against the Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, in the next qualifier match. After a narrow match, Mumbai defeated Gujarat by 20 runs. Rohit Sharma’s score of 81 allowed Mumbai to amass 228 runs, which was too many for Gujarat to reach. Shubman Gill got out before he could have a big impact with the bat. Sai Sudarshan scored for his team, however, he still had to leave and could not complete the chase.
Washington Sundar helped the Gujarat Titans in the batting and was close to scoring a half-century. It was clear that Mumbai desperately needed to disrupt the momentum when Sai Sudarshan and Washington Sundar were almost at their goal. Pandya offered the responsibility to his most promising bowler, Jasprit Bumrah and he delivered as expected. A yorker by Sharma got Washington to fall which gave Mumbai their first wicket of the match. The team who wins the second qualifier will meet Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the finals to fight for the IPL 2025 trophy. Lifting the trophy this year will give Mumbai their 6th title win in all.
