Former United Kingdom Prime Minister and Member of Parliament of the UK, Rishi Sunak, has openly declared his allegiance to the Bangalore-based franchise, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru for their finals clash against the Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium. In a conversation with The Times of India, Sunak expressed his desire to support RCB. His obvious reason to support RCB has been stated because of his roots. Former British leader will attend the finals and cheer for the franchise for their maiden IPL title at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

“The IPL has transformed cricket. Every cricketer, everywhere, wants to play in the IPL at some point in their career now,” he says, noting its developmental impact on English players. “I was at Edgbaston last week watching England vs West Indies. Jacob Bethell played a brilliant innings. The IPL has improved him as a player.”
Sunak’s India Visit
Sunak also revealed that he received an RCB jersey from his in-laws when he got married and has followed the franchise since then. He has admired former RCB captain Virat Kohli as a “Total Legend.” He remembers India’s External Affairs minister, Dr. S Jaishankar, gifting Virat Kohli the signed bat during his visit to India, which he called one of his prized possessions.

They have complemented the team in pressure situations when the team needed them the most.
