Kagiso Rabada Gives Big Statement After WTC Final Win, Says ‘People Were Saying We Weren’t…’ News24 –
Australia, a side renowned for its heroics on the grand stage, suffered a rare fall in an ICC final, when South Africa stepped up to win their first ICC World Test Championship (WTC) title. The Aussies, who were the top side across the previous WTC cycle, failed to hold on to their crown at Lord’s—beaten by a fierce South African unit that rose to the challenge when it was needed most.
Kagiso Rabada was absolutely magnificent in the WTC final, taking five wickets in the first innings and adding four more in the second. His 9-wicket haul played a crucial role in helping South Africa win a record milestone victory against the defending champions.
“I can’t describe in words how it feels at the moment. Obviously extremely happy, throughout this entire season we’ve played really well, we’ve worked really hard. I think we deserve to get into this position,” said Rabada
“People were saying we weren’t playing good enough opposition, but I think that’s rubbish. We came here and we played the best team. Australia have been magnificent all season, and we had to be on our A-game to beat them,”
