Yadav has been operated on due to a sports hernia, as per News24. He has gone to England to undergo treatment and is also on a hiatus from cricket. This treatment is indicated to commence next week. It is August when Surya is probably released back to the field. He recently played the Mumbai T20 League, where his team was knocked out in the league stage.

Suryakumar Yadav scored very well in IPL 2025, on behalf of the Mumbai Indians. His runs in 16 matches are a total of 717 with average of 65.18 and five half-centuries. He received highest score of 73 and it was remarkable that he struck with a blistering strike rate of 167.91 in his game.
