“At this stage of my career, I believe joining the Maharashtra team will help me grow further as a cricketer. I am deeply grateful to the Mumbai Cricket Association for the opportunities and support I have received over the years. Maharashtra Cricket Association has made remarkable efforts in recent years to enhance cricketing infrastructure across the state. Initiatives like the Maharashtra Premier League, Women’s MPL, Corporate Shield, and D.B. Deodhar Tournament are testament to their vision. I’m confident that being part of such a progressive setup will positively impact my journey as a cricketer. I’m happy to get the opportunity to play alongside talented players like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ankit Bawne, Rahul Tripathi, Rajneesh Gurbani, and Mukesh Choudhary in the Maharashtra team.” Prithvi Shaw’s statement as mentioned by NDTV

Shaw, who is associated with aggressive top-order batting, has played for India in all three formats – Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. He impressed everybody early in his career with his aggressive stroke play and remains one of the mainstay players in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well as on the domestic circuit. His capability of dealing with bowlers from the first ball onwards has made him a threat for any team to have.

A product of Mumbai cricket’s legacy, Shaw guided India to triumph in the 2018 ICC Under-19 World Cup as the team’s captain. In first-class cricket, he has already hit more than 4,500 runs with 13 hundreds and continues to be one of India’s most thrilling batting prospects.
