Day 2 of the 3rd Test match at Lord’s has already witnessed every ounce of excitement that a spectator can wish for. From Joe Root’s century right on the first ball of the day to Bumrah’s ultimate comeback by taking 3 crucial wickets of Ben Stokes, Joe Root, and Chris Woakes. But what was most surprising was the aggression asserted by Shubman Gill on the field. India was left furious when they asked for a ball change and were given a replacement ball that they thought was much older than the one they had. Gill seemed to be livid while having a chat with the umpire.
India and captain Shubman Gill clearly look unhappy with the ball change . 😕🏏#ShubmanGill #TeamIndia pic.twitter.com/vTsWeQZiqN

Even in the drinks break, he was having an animated chat with the umpires, showing the ball to them, and looked visibly frustrated when his arguments were dismissed. The visitors got into a huddle, and the newly inducted captain did the talking. Mohammad Siraj was also seen complaining about the ball replacement, but his argument was later dismissed as well. Siraj jas been wicketless since the start of this game.
Battles Of The ‘GOATS’
Shubman Gill, who is in the form of his life, has so far amassed a total of 585 runs in the first two matches that were played in Leeds and Edgbaston. Out of which there are 2 centuries and 1 double century. Joe Root, who completed his 37th Test century, has also named himself in the record books as the batter with the maximum Test centuries at Lord’s and has paralled Steve Smith’s record for most Test centuries against India (11).
Bumrah Backs Indian Bowling
Jasprit Bumrah and Nitish Kumar Reddy have been the conductors for the Indian bowling attack, with the former claiming 4 wickets till now while the latter putting 2 wickets in the bag. Stars from the Edgbaston Test are still wicketless. Jasprit Bumrah also missed a potential hat-trick when he failed to send Jamie Smith to the pavilion after Joe Root and Chris Woakes.
