Legendary sprinter and eight-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt is all set to visit India from September 26 to 28. This will be the Jamaican superstar’s second visit to the country, following his debut trip back in 2014. During his first visit in 2014, he came for brand-related promotional campaign.
“I am excited to return to India. The energy, the people and the passion for sports here is truly unmatched. I have a lot of fans in India and am really looking forward to my visit there later this year.” as mentioned by Olympics.com Usain Bolt opined on his upcoming visit to India
Usain Bolt’s Last Visit To India
He even played a cricket match with Yuvraj Singh, India’s World Cup Winning all-rounder which was held at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Bolt also took part in 100-meter sprint challenge with Yuvraj Singh. Now the upcoming visit will again be for promotional and fan engagement purpose.
Where Will Usain Bolt Visit?
The events have been lined up in Delhi and Mumbai with Bolt expected to be a part of interactive sessions, cultural showcases and meet & greet. One of the biggest attractions of his visit will be the country-wide school-level sprinting competition, in which the youth will run to be selected to compete in the finals in front of Bolt himself. The project is designed to motivate the next generation of Indian sprinters and encourage mass athletics.

One of the world’s best-known faces, widely seen as the best sprinter in history, Usain Bolt retired in 2017 but is still an instantly familiar face to billions of sports fans around the world. Throughout his career, he accumulated eight Olympic gold medals and 13 World Championship medals, 11 of them gold, on the podium. To this day, he still retains the world records for the 100m, the 200m, and the 4x100m relay.
