Arshad Nadeem Lashes Out At Pakistan For Making Fake Promises After His Paris Olympics Win News24 –

Pakistan’s star Javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem scripted history as he clinched the first-ever Olympic gold medal for Pakistan at the Paris Olympics, defeating India’s Neeraj Chopra. But one thing that has left him absolutely frustrated is Pakistan’s fake promises of rewards. Nadeem secured gold medal with a record-breaking throw of 92.97 metres and broke the previous Olympic record held by Denmark’s Andreas Thorkildsen.

“Out of all the prize announcements made to me, all the plot announcements were fake, which I did not receive. Apart from that, I have received all the cash prizes that were announced,” Nadeem told Geo TV.

However, despite the groundbreaking achievement, Nadeem has received little to no recognition or the rewards that were promised to him by the authorities. Currently, he is struggling with a hamstring issue which forced him to skip an event scheduled in Switzerland. According to sources, Nadeem will also be travelling to England for medical treatment so that he can recover in time for Silesia Diamond League where he will face India’s Javelin champion Neeraj Chopra.

This upcoming Silesia Diamond League will be the first time in a year that the two Javelin stars will go head to head after their Olympics battle in Paris on August 8, 2024. While Arshad Nadeem bagged the gold medal in Paris Olympics, Neeraj Chopra cliched silver, finishing in second place.

Since his Olympic silver, Neeraj Chopra has remained active on the global circuit, competing in multiple Diamond League events and major meets across Europe and India, including a win at the inaugural NC Classic in Bengaluru.
