Big Update! Rishabh Pant Ruled Out For Six Weeks After He Fractures His Toe In 4th Test: Report News24 –

Indian batter and vice-captain Rishabh Pant has been ruled out for six weeks after sustaining a serious fracture. On the first day of the 4th Test, in the 68th over, bowled by Chris Woakes, Pant was hit on the right foot while going for a reverse-sweep. The full-length delivery hit him on the outside of his boot, leaving him in visible pain. After an LBW appeal by England and a subsequent DRS referral, the replay affirmed an inside edge off Pant’s bat.

According to a report by The Indian Express, a BCCI source confirmed that Rishabh Pant has been ruled out for six weeks after suffering a toe fracture due to the injury sustained on Day 1. The report also mentioned that the medical team is still trying to see if he can bat again by taking painkillers, but his comeback chances look bleak.

“The scan report showed a fracture and he is ruled out for six weeks. The medical team is trying to see if he can come out to bat again by taking a pain killer. He still needs support to walk though and chances of his batting looks very bleak,” a source in the BCCI confirmed to The Indian Express.

When Pant was injured, he took off his gloves and hobbled around the crease, triggering immediate concern from the physio. During the drinks interval, the medical team took off his right boot, socks, and pads, and were able to see swelling and a spot of blood on the outside of the foot. Unable to support his weight on it, Pant was taken from the field in a buggy, and a fresh batter was sent in.
