The season 2 of Delhi Premier League (DPL) is all set to commence from August 2, Saturday but one of the teams Purani Dilli 6 were hit by a major setback as their star player and captain Rishabh Pant got ruled out. During the fourth Test against England, Pant was hit by a ball on his foot after which he was sent to the hospital and the scans showed that he had a fractured toe.

The doctors advised Pant six-weeks of rest but despite that he played the 4th Test but after its conclusion the wicket-keeper batter was ruled out of the rest of the series and Delhi Premier League as well.
Purani Dilli 6 named their new captain and the team will be led by 22-year old Vansh Bedi. He showed an incredible batting in the last season of DPL and was one of the finds of the tournament. Bedi scored 221 runs with an average of 44.5 in the inaugural season. He was also bought by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2025 season, even though he did not play any match the young wicketkeeper batter was signed for INR 55 lakh. The right-handed wicket-keeper batter will now be leading Purani Dilli 6 in absence of Rishabh Pant.
