Aakash Chopra’s Unusual Take On Prasidh Krishna’s Struggles News24 –

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra lauded Prasidh Krishna for his resilience and standout performance in England’s first innings during the 5th Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Krishna claimed 4 wickets for 62 runs in 16 overs, playing a key role as India bowled out England for 247 on Day 2 at The Oval. His crucial breakthrough came when he dismissed the well-set Zak Crawley, who scored 64 off 57 balls.

In a report, Aakash Chopra commented, “Prasidh Krishna has faced heavy criticism and trolling. I read somewhere that even a polar bear would acclimatize to inland conditions after so long, but Prasidh seemed to struggle with that.”He added, “Yet, he brushed it off, took four wickets, and bowled impressively. Tall bowlers have historically thrived at this ground, gaining extra bounce. Yes, he was a bit expensive, but those four wickets were absolutely vital.”

On his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra noted that Prasidh Krishna had faced criticism for struggling to adjust his length in English conditions. However, the fast bowler silenced his detractors with a decisive spell, effectively dismantling the opposition batting lineup.

“He has got the pace. Again, not a finished product by any stretch of imagination, but despite being a work in progress, he has done a good job. Picking up four wickets was extremely important. Mohammed Siraj picked up four wickets, and Akash Deep took one, and India had to dismiss only nine players, as Chris Woakes is out of the match.” He said.
