The Delhi Premier League 2025 kept up the fireworks, with West Delhi Lions producing one of the most thrilling run chases of the season as they beat East Delhi Riders by 7 wickets in a thriller at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. East Delhi Riders posted a strong total of 209 runs in 20 overs, following which West Delhi Lions chased it easily, putting up 214 runs on board in just 17.3 overs.

Krish Yadav Gives Strong Start

Pursuing a mammoth 209 for the win, West Delhi Lions came out all guns blazing with an attacking knock by opener Krish Yadav, who tore into the bowlers to make 62 from a mere 29 balls. His power-packed and precise knock laid down the ideal platform for what turned out to be an authoritative run chase.

Ayush Doseja Anchors The Chase With Match-Winning Knock

In reply to Yadav’s aggressive beginning, Ayush Doseja played a steady and calculated innings. Playing the anchor figure to perfection, he departed on 84 off 48 balls, giving a display of maturity ahead of his age group. His measured aggression kept the Lions in the lead in the chase despite wickets falling on either side of him.

Captain Rana Keeps The Momentum Going

Captain Nitish Rana added to the tally with a telling cameo, hitting 39 off just 15 balls, providing more momentum to the innings. His aggressive strokeplay and intent meant the asking rate never became an issue. Thanks to his effort, West Delhi achieved the target in an effortless 17.3 overs.

East Delhi Riders Post Formidable Total

Earlier, it was East Delhi Riders with their bat. Their captain and wicketkeeper-batter Anuj Rawat set the tone for the chase with his scintillating unbeaten 73 from 38 balls, studded with 6 fours and 5 sixes. He was ably supported by Arpit Rana (44 off 28) and Mayank Rawat (40 off 28), who played strike-packed innings to push their team to an imposing 208/4 in 20 overs.

Bowlers Struggle As Lions Unleash A Batting Masterclass

Despite the strong total, East Delhi’s bowling attack failed to rise to the challenge, struggling to contain the Lions’ aggressive batting unit. Boundaries flowed freely, and wickets were hard to come by as West Delhi chased down the target with ease, turning the contest into a one-sided affair.
