Australia is preparing to kick off their white-ball tour of South Africa and all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is all set to achieve a unique T20I milestone. With only four wickets away from achieving 50 T20I wickets, Maxwell stands on the verge of joining an elite group of cricketers who have achieved more than 2,500 runs and taken at least 50 wickets in T20Is.

If Maxwell does it, he will join an exclusive group of just four players in the history of T20Is to record the rare double of 2,500+ runs and 50+ wickets. The select group now stands as:

Maxwell is already Australia’s third-leading run-scorer in T20Is having scored 2,754 runs in 121 games (111 innings) with an average of 29.29 and a scorching strike rate of 156.03. Maxwell’s T20I career record contains five centuries and 11 half-centuries, his best innings of 145 not out.
Maxwell has made significant contribution with the ball, taking 46 wickets at an average of 30.08, with best figures of 3/10. Four more wickets and he will find a place in T20I record books.
Performance in 2025 So Far
In the 2025 season, Maxwell has featured in five T20Is, scoring 90 runs at an average of 18.00, but with a phenomenal strike rate of over 195. His top score this year stands at 47. While bowling he has averaged 21.00, with best figures of 2/15.
