Hardik Pandya, Surykumar Yadav & Shreyas Iyer Fitness Update Ahead Of India’s Squad Announcement News24 –

Indian cricket team all-rounder Hardik Pandya underwent a routine fitness test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru on August 11 and 12, 2025, before the Asia Cup 2025 team announcement, according to the Times of India. Pandya had been training in Mumbai for weeks before the test.

The report also added that Shreyas Iyer has already been cleared of his fitness tests, and with his stellar performance in white-ball cricket, he is virtually guaranteed to be on the selectors’ radars. Conversely, India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is recuperating from hernia surgery and will need another week at the NCA to become fully match-ready. However, this is not likely to jeopardize his chances of playing for the Asia Cup.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced that the two much-awaited India vs Pakistan encounters during the tournament will be hosted in Dubai, the first one on September 14 and a potential second on September 21. The final will be played on September 29, again in Dubai.

The Asia Cup, starting on September 9 in the UAE, will be staged in the T20I format as a build-up to the T20 World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka early next year.

Out of 19 games, 11 will be in Dubai and 8 will be in Abu Dhabi. India’s group games are against UAE on September 10 and Pakistan on September 14 in Dubai, with the game against Oman on September 19 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

India are in Group A with Pakistan, Oman, and UAE, while Group B has Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong.
