A Challenging Year For Team India

2025 has not been plain sailing for Harmanpreet Singh and his team. India did not have a successful FIH Pro League campaign, finishing eighth among nine teams. Throughout the year, the team lost 10 games and won only six, falling to No. 8 in the world rankings. This is after the high of their bronze medal victory at the Paris Olympics in 2024. Adding to the ongoing struggles, India endured a seven-match losing spree during the Pro League’s European leg, with two successive 3-2 losses to Australia.

Australia – The Favourites In Their Backyard

The Kookaburras, however, have been their usual consistent captains and have a commanding head-to-head record against India. Playing at home, they come into the series as strong favourites.
