From video games to racing tracks, a true sportsperson will always find their way out of the woods to rise and shine. This is where the world takes notice-when these athletes captivate their audiences’ hearts and minds with their resilience and hard work, making both themselves and their country proud.
In the past few years, esports has become one of the most well-known international phenomena. Esports captivates the minds of millions of youth viewers and players. Through professional leagues, it has spread into a million-dollar business. Competitive gaming like esports, packed with virtual arenas, is not just entertainment; it’s miles turning into a cultural movement.
Is Esports A Danger To Offline Sports
Esports is now seen as a specialist interest, as it provides a wide range of matches. It encourages strategic planning, cooperation, teamwork, and rapid decision-making. Most young players develop field, hand-eye coordination, and virtual skills through hours of practice and competition. For some, esports even presents career opportunities in game enhancement, marketing, broadcasting, and advertising.
In 2025, Sohail Khan made history by winning the silver medal at the Senior Kudo World Cup in Bulgaria. In a previous interview, Sohail stated that “Sports politics and limitations kept holding me back. I needed something that brought everything together—striking, grappling, and intensity.”
Today, he was asked about his views on whether esports pose a threat to traditional offline sports. He replied that “Esports, in my view, is not a danger to traditional offline sports. The real danger lies in how people use it. Many do not even realize when they cross the line into addiction. Offline sports, on the other hand, are a complete package—they teach discipline, build confidence, relieve stress, promote social interaction, and most importantly, ensure physical fitness and mental well-being.”
“Esports may provide entertainment and virtual competition, but it keeps individuals restricted to a chair for long hours, creating unnecessary pressure on the mind, eyes, and body. There is no substitute for the real-life benefits and life lessons that offline sports provide. Esports can be enjoyed in moderation, but true growth, resilience, and strength will always come from being active in real sports,” he elaborated to News24 on how virtual arenas are shaping young minds.
Psychological Aspect Of Esports
Excessive screen time, game addiction, and loneliness lead to serious health issues. Mental health professionals warn that the stress of performing well, especially among the young generation, can cause mental stress and anxiety. We can find that there are growing concerns about its psychological impact on the younger generation.
Future Of Esports
From offline stadiums to online screens, esports are being embraced by people of all ages. With an old mindset, Indian parents who used to scold children for playing computer games may now begin to push their wards to excel in computer games.
In this fast-paced world, the competition is growing rapidly, especially among the youth, as they play online games and challenge their opponents from around the world. The task is to represent the benefits alongside mitigating the risks, guaranteeing this virtual revolution positively impacts young minds instead of damaging them.
