Virat Kohli’s Biopic On Cards? THIS Actor Sparks Buzz Over Possible Biopic Of India Star’s Life On Screen News24 –
Sports biopics have emerged as an influential medium for fans to experience the motivational life stories of their beloved sports stars on the silver screen. From the iconic stories of MS Dhoni, Milkha Singh, and Mary Kom to the impending biopic on former India captain Sourav Ganguly, these movies glorify the determination, ardor, and victories of sporting legends. Interestingly, however, there has been no confirmation about a biopic on one of India’s contemporary cricket icons – Virat Kohli.
Earlier, actor Gurmeet Choudhary of hit TV shows like Punar Vivaah and Ramayan expressed his views while being asked if he would want to play the role of cricket star Virat Kohli in a hypothetical biopic. Being a part owner of a team in CLT10, Gurmeet gave a humble and witty response.
“Unless there is ever a biopic being made and I happen to get an opportunity, I would surely be game,” Gurmeet replied. “But genuinely, I feel Virat himself would make the role justice than anyone else. He’s a fantastic actor in his own right, super charismatic, and fits the look perfectly. I won’t be surprised if the movie opens with Rs 200-300 crore at the box office.”
Virat Kohli, who retired from T20 internationals in 2024 and Test cricket earlier this year, has now concentrated his energies on the ODI game. His and Rohit Sharma’s retirement from Test cricket just ahead of the England tour left everyone in dismay. Indian bowler Ravi Bishnoi shared his opinions regarding the duo’s departure, highlighting how worthy they are of a grand farewell.
It was surprising because we all want to witness legends like them retire on the field,” Bishnoi told a recent interview. “They have achieved so much for Indian cricket, and it seems like two massive shoes have to be filled. Hopefully, they receive the right sendoff they deserve at the time when they choose to retire from ODIs.”
Former India batsman Cheteshwar Pujara also expressed similar sentiments as he talked about their professionalism and skill.
“I don’t need to tell them – they are among the best for white-ball cricket,” Pujara stated. “Even if they’re playing only one format, their skill and experience are unparalleled. They understand when it’s time to retire and are also well aware of the commitment international cricket requires. If they stay fit, they can go on at the highest level for many years to come.”
As Kohli keeps penning his cricketing saga, fans look forward on the one hand, to the runs and the records, but even on the other, to the day when his outstanding journey may be etched in cinematic history on the silver screen. Until that day, his on-field exploits and off-field presence keep inspiring millions across the globe.
