Amanda Anisimova has established herself on the WTA circuit with a breakthrough season that saw her reach back-to-back Grand Slam Finals. She has a memorable run in the US Open 2025 as she won against Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff but in the finals she lost against Aryna Sabalenka.
“It’s been a great summer. Losing two finals in a row is great, but also super hard. I think I didn’t fight hard enough for my dreams today,” said Anisimova
However, her American dream summer ended in disappointment on both occasions. Anisimova suffered straight sets defeat in New York, falling 6-3, 7-6 to World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka. The defeat turned out to be an emotional blow for Anisimova as she broke down in tears after two consecutive Grand Slam final losses.
