Smriti Mandhana’s Milestone: Team India’s southpaw batter Smriti Mandhana has once again rewritten the record books. During the 3rd Women’s ODI in New Delhi, she became the fastest Indian woman to score a hundred in ODIs – getting there in just 50 balls. By this, Mandhana also became the fastest century hitter in ODIs surpassing Virat Kohli – 52 balls.
Earlier, Mandhana surpassed her fellow mate Richa Ghosh who got to her fifty of 26 balls. Mandhana’s 23-ball half-century wasn’t a flash in the pan – it’s a marker of how far she has come as a batter. She’s shown resilience, talent, and the hunger to chase big numbers. As India heads into bigger games, having a batter in this kind of form is invaluable.
