Prithvi Shaw was involved in a heated altercation with Musheer Khan on the opening day of warm-up fixture ahead of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26. Prithvi Shaw hit a century and performed incredibly well against his former team Mumbai in Ranji Trophy warm-up match which was held on Tuesday.
The 25-year old batter secured a hundred off 140 balls and shared a huge 305-run partnership with Arshin Kulkarni. Shaw’s innings lasted till the score of 181 after which he was seen in a confrontation with his ex-teammates.
It happened when Shaw was seen at deep fine leg attempting a slog sweep off Musheer Khan. The tensions were on the rise but the umpire intervened to calm the situation, allowing Shaw to walk off. Cricbuzz also reported that Musheer sledged Prithvi by saying “Thank you.” The send-off made Shaw very furious and he tried to grab Musheer collar and he was swinging his bat at him.
“It’s a practice match. They all are former teammates. Such things happen and its all okay now and there is no issue,” said Ankit Bhawne, who is the captain of the Maharashtra side.
Prithvi Shaw was once considered to be the next big thing but he there were a lot of controversies that emerged surrounding him. There were allegations of “indiscipline” against him and his performance had also dropped. He had hit a rough patch and was going through poor form following which he was not even picked for IPL 2025.
Shaw has 4,556 runs in 58 FC matches at an average of 46.02, this includes 13 centuries and 18 half-centuries.
