Indian spinner Varun Chakaravarthy has opened up about the controversy that happened in Asia Cup 2025 when India played against Pakistan in the final. Speaking on Breakfast with Champions hosted by Gaurav Kapur, Chakaravarthy addressed the post-match drama that unfolded after India’s thrilling win over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final in Dubai.
The Indian team refused to take trophy from Mohsin Naqvi and he ran away with it. Following which Chakaravarthy said that he can take away the trophy but India will still remain the champions.
“It felt good, I knew we were going to win all the matches. We are the number one team in the world. Cup cheen sakte hain, but we are champions,” Varun said
He then shared that he planned everything after India received the trophy but it couldn’t happen because of Naqvi’s pathetic move.
“I had planned everything. I knew we were going to win. So I thought I’d post a picture of myself sleeping with the trophy. But after the match, there was nothing next to me. Just a coffee cup. So I went with it,” Varun explained.
The Indian Team thrashed Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025. In all the three matches played they registered dashing win. While Pakistan on the other hand was busy investing in controversy and the players were busy making unnecessary gesture rather than playing cricket.
