Will there be a victory parade after India’s Women’s World Cup win? BCCI gives an update! News24 –

The Indian Women’s Cricket Team has etched their name in history as the Women in Blue clinched their first ever win ending their 47-year long wait. However, fans are eager to see the grand celebration and victory parade after India’s win. But the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that unlike men’s open bus parade after the T20 World Cup win there are no immediate plans to organise it for the women’s team.

“Nothing like a victory parade is planned as of now,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia mentioned to IANS.

According to Saikia, the board is currently focusing on the upcoming meeting in Dubai which is scheduled between November 4 and 7 where several matters will be discussed. The main issue in focus will be about the Asia Cup Trophy which India still hasn’t received as the ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi has refused to give it back.

The Indian Women displayed an exceptional performance and registered a stunning win over South Africa Women by 52 runs. Following this title win, the BCCI announced that the team and support staff will be getting a cash prize of INR 51 crores. Harmanpreet Kaur got emotional and revealed that she trusted her instincts and handed the ball to Shefali Verma which proved to be the turning point of the match in India’s historic ODI World Cup Win final which was held at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
