This Indian bowler conceded six sixes in an over, his name is…, batter was… News24 –

Indian cricket recently witnessed something truly extraordinary, a moment that will be talked about for generations. Meghalaya’s Akash Choudhary smashed 8 consecutive sixes and made a quick-fire fifty off just 11 balls. It was the kind of innings people read about in storybooks, not something you expect in nearly 200 years of first-class cricket and more than 90 years of Ranji Trophy history.

As fans across the country celebrated this unbelievable batting display, one question quietly roamed around: Who was the bowler on the other end of this storm?

The answer – Limar Dabi, a humble, hardworking cricketer from Arunachal Pradesh whose journey deserves just as much attention.

What happened during the match

Meghalaya were already cruising at 576 for 6 when Choudhary walked out at No. 8. In the 126th over of the innings, Limar Dabi came on to bowl. What happened next left the entire stadium stunned.

Choudhary hit every single ball of the over for six, six deliveries, six towering hits. Before anyone could process that, two more sixes flew off the next over bowled by TNR Mohith.

Choudhary walked off with a mind-blowing 50 off 14 balls as Meghalaya declared on 628 for 6. It was a proud moment for cricket but in the middle of the celebration stood Limar Dabi, trying to process the toughest over of his life.

Who Is Limar Dabi?

Born on November 7, 1991, in West Siang, Arunachal Pradesh, Limar Dabi doesn’t have the luxuries many young cricketers grow up with. No world-class academies. No big-city exposure. No spotlight.

A left-handed batter and slow left-arm orthodox bowler, Dabi is one of the many unsung heroes from the Northeast who continue pushing forward despite limited facilities and opportunities. His game is built not on speed or glamour but on patience, control, and long hours of practice far away from mainstream cricketing hubs.

A career built on dedication

Dabi made his First-Class debut in 2024. In 3 matches, he has taken 4 wickets, with best figures of 2/55. He has bowled 477 balls, many of them in long, grinding spells meant to help his team stay in the fight.

His List A career started earlier in 2022. Across 7 matches, his standout performance remains a beautiful spell of 1/1 against Kerala, a small but shining glimpse of his potential.

His best all-round performance came against Manipur in 2024, where he picked up 2/55 and 2/71. These moments, though not celebrated widely, matter deeply for a player building a career slowly and steadily.

More than just getting smashed

Dabi’s story is not about one over. It’s about years of effort, playing for a small state with minimal resources, continuing to chase a dream despite the odds. He represents the heart of the Ranji Trophy, players who don’t seek fame, just the chance to play the game they love.

For Limar Kali Dabi, this chapter isn’t a setback, it’s proof of his courage to stand there, ball in hand, giving his best for Arunachal Pradesh. His journey continues, and knowing his character, he will only come back stronger.
