Bret Hart takes dig at Goldberg, says ‘he never understood wrestling’ and praises Brock Lesnar’s professionalism News24 –
One of WWE’s legends has singled out Brock Lesnar as a symbol of professionalism while criticizing Goldberg for lacking it. Bret “The Hitman” Hart was recently in Montreal to commemorate the Montreal Screwjob incident. During an appearance on the Johnny I Pro Show, the 68-year-old wrestling icon compared the current wrestling scene with the older days, admitting that he finds it hard to watch today’s product.
Bret Hart’s Statement on Johnny I Pro Show
“I have a hard time watching today’s wrestling… It’s too fake for me. I think that today’s wrestlers are actors. Most of them are actors pretending to be wrestlers. They don’t actually know how to wrestle, and they don’t even know what a headlock is… I see guys throwing punches, and they open their hand at the last second and slap the guy.
Why don’t you take 10 minutes and go have someone teach you how to throw a punch instead of throwing that embarrassment of a punch?”
Bret Hart Revisits His Complicated History With Goldberg
Hart’s relationship with Goldberg is complicated and did not end on good terms. The WWE star has often accused the Georgia-billed athlete of prematurely ending his career, despite Goldberg apologizing multiple times. On this occasion, Hart also discussed wrestlers he wished he could have faced in the ring.
Hart Names the Stars He Wishes He Could Have Faced
His list included Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio, Lance Storm, and John Cena.
“I would have loved to wrestle Dwayne Johnson a lot more… John Cena would be up there. I found John Cena very comparable or similar to me in the sense that he was a serious professional, a detailed guy who went over every little detail in the match.”
Hart Highlights Lesnar’s Skill and Criticizes Goldberg
Hart then praised Brock Lesnar’s professionalism while taking another jab at Goldberg.
“I would like to wrestle Brock Lesnar. I’ve always heard from different guys that Brock Lesnar is a professional… He’s not like Goldberg. He knows what wrestling is all about, and he does it right. Some guys like Goldberg never understood it.”
