Despite the fact that the two wrestlers sometimes worked together, Cardona at one point got a title match against Cena, but he was not able to take the title.

Cardona’s wrestling career peaked in 2011, but 2012 would prove to be the total contrary. He engaged in an on-screen love affair with Eve Torres, who then would go on to John Cena. The plot came to a point where Cardona fell hard, not just in his character’s development but also in popularity, with a few media outlets calling him one of the fallen stars of 2012. Cardona was not able to replicate the same success during the time he spent in the company before his release in 2020.

He also lavished praise on Cardona’s wife, Chelsea Green, saying they were ‘a tremendous example of making luck through effort.’
