Cody Rhodes will face Drew McIntyre on WWE SmackDown in Berlin on January 9th for the WWE Undisputed Championship. The match will be of the 3 Stages Of Hell clash. The first stage will be a normal match. The second stage will be a Falls Count Anywhere match, and the third stage will take place inside a steel cage. On the latest SmackDown episode, Drew escalated his rivalry with Cody considerably.
All eyes on Berlin as McIntyre turns up the heat
He burned a photo of Cody with his father, Dusty Rhodes, who died almost ten years ago, while The American Nightmare stood by, unable to do anything, and dozens of guards kept him from moving. McIntyre later shared a few photos of him outside Rhodes’ bus, where, owing to the bus’s position, he appeared to be urinating on it. One X user observed that after accumulating so much heat and momentum, McIntyre must be the eventual title holder in Berlin.
McIntyre’s title hopes in doubt as Rhodes–Reigns build begins
The Scottish Warrior has been after the title for quite a while, and his defeat at SmackDown will put him in the category of a jobber. Hence, he must emerge victorious this Friday. Nevertheless, Jonathan Coachman believes that Drew McIntyre will be the one who loses. Coach on X lately gave a spoiler saying that Drew McIntyre will lose on Friday because, as per his informants, WWE is constructing the Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns match at WrestleMania 42.
Coachman doubles down on Rhodes–Reigns plan
This could mean that fans might witness Cody retaining, Drew not winning, and Drew being put aside again by AEW from entering into a title match again. Coachman said:
“But that’s exactly what is going to happen. My sources have Cody and Roman at mania. Such a miss the last 18 months. Drew has the “heel chops” to be that nasty heel they need that they see to be positioning Gunther to try and be. But Gunther simply isn’t that kind of a heel. Booking is not write and Drew Is getting the short end of stick.”
