17 wickets in 47 overs! SRH bowler delivers outstanding performance ahead of IPL 2026, name is…

A promising young leg-spinner from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is currently doing wonders in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He is none other than Zeeshan Ansari who represents Uttar Pradesh and has been a standout performer of his team. With total 17 wickets to his name so far, he sits at the top of wicket-taking charts.

In the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, Ansari has played five matches in which he has bowled 47 overs and claimed 17 wickets with an impressive average of 13.06. He has shown exceptional consistency and registered two four-wicket hauls with three successive three-wicket performances in his last three outings.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Sunrisers Hyderabad picked Ansari for INR 40 lakh at the mega auction ahead of the IPL 2025. In the last season he played 10 matches and took six wickets at an average of 55.50. Even though he had a modest debut season, SRH retained him and backed his potential.

Prior to Vijay Hazare Trophy, Ansari had a very productive campaign in the UP T20 League where he represents Meerut Mavericks. The leg-spinner picked 15 wickets in 13 matches. His disciplined and attacking bowling played a vital role in several of Meerut’s victories. For now, Ansari’s focus remains on maintaining his momentum in the remainder of the Vijay Hazare Trophy before shifting attention to making a bigger impact in IPL 2026.
