History made on RAW as Becky Lynch captures Women’s IC title again

The opening bout of the special edition of WWE RAW for tonight saw the pairing of Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY winning against The Kabuki Warriors to claim the Women’s Tag Team Championships. Besides, more title matches were lined up for the evening, and Bron Breakker’s challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event was the icing on the cake.

Becky Lynch challenges Maxxine Dupri in a hard-fought title encounter

In the second bout of the evening, Becky Lynch took on the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Maxxine Dupri, in an effort to regain the title. The pair of ladies entertained the audience extremely well as Dupri demonstrated her significant progress as a wrestler during the past year. She proved her toughness and willpower to refuse Becky again and again.

Clever tactics seal the deal for Becky Lynch in title match

There were a few times when she almost triumphed, yet the women were aware of each other’s tactics. Additionally, Becky managed to escape from the same top rope cross body by Dupri, which had previously secured the title for Maxxine. Maxxine seemed to be the next in line to claim the victory when she had the opponent locked in an ankle lock, but Becky was not above using dirty tricks to get to the title.

She leveraged the ropes on her pin attempt on Dupri as the referee’s count reached three, without the referee noticing Becky’s use of the ropes. This victory allowed her to become the first-ever Women’s Intercontinental Champion twice.
