WWE’s Netflix Era accelerates with Premium Live Events and Unreal Season 2


WWE and Netflix have grown even closer through this new announcement, which is quite an unusual and remarkable move. Over the last few years, WWE has been more active in mainstream media through various ways such as celebrities wrestling to making guest appearances. The most considerable involvement the promotion had is undoubtedly the signing of a deal with Netflix last year, thus, the streaming platform became the world’s home for some of the Stamford-based promotion’s shows.

WWE and Netflix celebrate anniversary with Stranger Things spotlight

The collaboration initiated during RAW’s episode of January 6, 2025, and it has already been a year since then. As a cherry on the cake, the first anniversary celebration was also a joint effort of the famous TV series Stranger Things, which was additionally available on Netflix for viewing. There are indications that the platform and the promotion will have more things to share in the future.

Netflix takes over PLE streaming

In a recent announcement on X, Netflix now will be the go-to place for WWE’s premium live event library in the U.S. until September 2025. It contains the biggest events like WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Royal Rumble, plus a lot of documentaries and original programming.

“Beginning immediately, Netflix is the new U.S. home for WWE’s library of Premium Live Events (prior to September 2025) including WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble, as well as award-winning documentaries and original programming.”

Netflix and WWE push ahead with Unreal season 2

After the collaboration between World Wrestling Entertainment and Netflix, the reality series WWE Unreal was announced to premiere on July 29, 2025, and it would be showing the backstage actions and the making of different feuds and shows. The show received a mix of reviews as a lot of fans didn’t appreciate the fact that the footage broke kayfabe and revealed the secrets of the trade, however, to counter the reviews another season is already in production. Just a month ago, it was confirmed that WWE Unreal Season 2 would release on January 20, 2026, and would include stars such as Becky Lynch, Lyra Valkyria, Seth Rollins, and more.
