Steve Austin recalls legendary beer-filled nights and mischief with Goldberg

One of the WWE Hall of Fame legends has told about a surprising night when the beers fell from the sky. Stone Cold Steve Austin is the one whose name will always be associated with beer-drinking in WWE. The Texas Rattlesnake would open up a few cans after causing uproar and completely destroying his rivals in the ring during the big celebrations. The 13-times World Wrestling Entertainment Champion would often have beer parties as well, where he would mingle with the other wrestlers of the roster during the night.

Steve Austin on staying true to his character beyond the ring

Throughout his professional wrestling career, such activities were his stuff, and they never ceased to be when he officially retired because of a sudden drastic neck and spine injury but still, he was on TV as the WWE RAW general manager during the 2000s. Besides that, he was well-known for drinking, mainly beer, off the ring, and also he did not lose contact with some of his ex-colleagues. A long time ago, Austin was permitted to converse with Chris Van Vliet for a comprehensive discussion about his career, and it was quite natural to raise the issue of his drinking habits, thus he could not avoid it.

Stone Cold Steve Austin recalls legendary beer-filled ring antics in Japan

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet on his Insight podcast, Austin was queried about the highest amount of beers he had consumed in a single night. The Hall of Famer remembered that at a Japanese event, the Dudley Boyz, Stacy Keibler, and a number of other people were in the ring. He then thought of throwing some beers to everyone, but the count remarkably reached around 100 cans.

“It was over in Japan, and I’ve talked about this before, because the Dudleys were there, and Stacy Keibler was there, and there’s a whole bunch of people that were in the ring. So I just started tossing out beers, but I think we went over 100 and this isn’t an Andre story that, but I believe there was 100 beers involved in that. Now, did they all get drank into Completion? No, it was spilled everywhere and thrown here, there and wherever.”

Stone Cold opens up about classic beer pranks with Goldberg

He declared that he had always enjoyed a good time sharing beer with Goldberg, who, however, did not drink at all.

“But I think that was about the biggest one ever, over in Japan. I used to like to get Goldberg in the ring and toss him beers on a few occasions that we did that, because Bill don’t drink. He’ll drink a beer ot two, but he doesn’t really drink.

And so I’d keep force-feeding him beers, because if you’re in the ring with Stone Cold, you got to drink the beer. And I’d try to get him as hammered as I could before I left the ring. It’s kind of an ongoing rib between me and Bill. I still keep up with him.”
