IND vs NZ: Ayush Badoni receives maiden ODI call-up after Washington Sundar gets ruled out


Washington Sundar has been ruled out from the ODI series against New Zealand after he sustained an injury in the first ODI. The all-rounder faced sharp pain in his lower left rib area when he was bowling at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara on Sunday, January 11.

BCCI released an official statement and informed that Ayush Badoni will be joining India squad as the replacement of Washington Sundar.

“India all-rounder Washington Sundar reported an acute onset discomfort in his left lower rib area while bowling during the first ODI against New Zealand at the BCA Stadium, Vadodara, on Sunday. He will undergo further scans, following which the BCCI Medical Team will seek expert opinion.”

“Washington has been ruled out of the remaining two matches of the IDFC First Bank ODI series.”

“The Men’s Selection Committee has named Ayush Badoni as his replacement. Badoni will link up with the squad in Rajkot, the venue for the second ODI.”

India’s revised squad for the 2nd and 3rd ODIs:

Shubman Gill (Captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul (Wicketkeeper), Shreyas Iyer (Vice-captain), Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana, Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Arshdeep Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel (Wicketkeeper), Ayush Badoni.
