THIS 19-year old cricketer made headlines with her beauty and elegance, made her WPL debut, name is…
The 19-year-old Australian batting all-rounder, Lucy Hamilton made a statement on her Women’s Premier League debut on January 17, 2026, against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The Queensland cricketer impressed with a blistering 36 off just 19 balls, smashing three fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 189.47. It was the kind of debut that instantly grabs attention.
Reflecting on her performance, Hamilton said, “It was really special to get that opportunity and be there for my first game. A debut is always a big moment, and the message for us at the start was to keep fighting and take it as deep as possible. I just tried to stay calm, trust my strengths, and do whatever I could for the team in that situation.”
From Queensland to WPL glory
Born on May 8, 2006, in Bundaberg, Queensland, Lucy started playing cricket at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks. She represents Queensland in domestic cricket and plays for Brisbane Heat in the Women’s Big Bash League. Hamilton also plays grade cricket for the Sunshine Coast Cricket Club and made her Queensland debut on March 15, 2022, becoming the second-youngest player in the squad at just 15 years old.
Her talent has already been recognized at the national level, as she was selected for Australia’s Under-19 squad for the 2026 Women’s Under-19 World Cup. If she continues performing at this pace, a call-up to the senior Australian squad, the Kangaroos, might not be far off.
With her aggressive batting, calm head under pressure, and all-round abilities, Lucy Hamilton is definitely a rising star to watch in women’s cricket.
