Lana reflects on the missed WrestleMania moment that could have ended Brie Bella’s career

A recent discussion involving the wife of a WWE star brought up the retirement plans of Brie Bella as far back as 2016. Brie Bella participated in a huge match at the WrestleMania 32 kickoff show, where she was on a team with Alicia Fox, Eva Marie, Natalya, and Paige against Emma, Lana, Summer Rae, Naomi, and Tamina.

The match concluded with The Glow being forced to submit to Bella. Then, the experienced wrestler had the intention to rest from the ring completely for a long period of time because of family. In addition, she would keep on being a part of WWE as an ambassador.

Brie Bella’s retirement vision featuring Lana comes to light

Since that time, Brie has been a part of a small number of matches. Nevertheless, she had set her retirement plan for WrestleMania 32 and suggested the idea of WWE star Rusev’s wife, Lana (aka CJ Perry), defeating her at the event. Recently, Lana was a guest on Ring The Belle where she shared her experiences in the wrestling ring. When she mentioned her encounters with Brie Bella, Lana stated that the former had supposedly suggested a retirement scheme in which she wished to elevate the Ravishing Russian.

Lana reflects on scrapped WrestleMania retirement storyline with Brie Bella

In time, the original plan was not fully executed and the multi-woman tag team match was set instead. Lana, on the other hand, feels that the decision was correct because, upon reflection, she thought that she was not prepared for the next step at that time.

“Brie [Bella] actually pitched the story. Yeah it was all Brie and I am so thankful. She actually pitched for me to have a singles match the next night against her and to go over and actually put her into retirement. Yes yes. I was really nervous. I was okay it didn’t happen ’cause I wasn’t ready and Vince [McMahon] wanted her to win on the high and go off as a babyface. I totally understand that and I supported that because I was training and I just didn’t feel like I was ready yet. So I was like, everything happens for a reason. And my time will come, even though that would have been mega heat.”
