Nandni, Wolvaardt shine as Delhi Capitals end RCB’s unbeaten run in WPL 2026

Nandni Sharma marked her call-up to the India A team with an excellent performance, taking 3-26 as Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by seven wickets. In the 2026 WPL match held in Vadodara, DC ended RCB’s winning streak and climbed to second place in the standings.

How did Nandni Sharma perform?

On a slow track, Nandni utilized her clever slower deliveries to help dismiss RCB for just 109. This took her season total to 13 wickets, a new record for an Indian fast bowler in the league. She was well-supported by Marizanne Kapp, Chinelle Henry and Minnu Mani, who all took two wickets in a very disciplined team effort.

How was the chase?

DC chased down the small target easily with 26 balls left. Shafali Verma started fast with three early boundaries but got out quickly, followed shortly by Lizelle Lee. However, captain Jemimah Rodrigues and Laura Wolvaardt settled the nerves with a 52-run partnership, aided by several dropped catches and fielding errors from RCB. Even after Jemimah was out for 24, Marizanne Kapp joined Laura (who finished on 42 not out) to finish the game.

How did RCB bat?

Earlier, RCB captain Smriti Mandhana top-scored with 38, but her exit sparked a major batting collapse. The team tumbled from a decent start to their lowest score of the year, with only three players reaching double digits. Nandni cleaned up the lower order, taking the final three wickets to ensure DC had an easy task ahead.
