This player charged in anti-corruption case before T20 World Cup 2026, temporarily banned from all cricket, name is…

American cricketer Aaron Jones is facing serious accusations for breaking five rules related to bribery and dishonesty. Both the Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) made this public on Wednesday, January 28.

Most of these claims involve his behaviour during the 2023-24 Bim10 competition, which is managed by CWI. However, two of the five counts are linked to global games overseen by the ICC.

According to the CWI regulations, Jones is accused of trying to manipulate the outcome of specific moments in the Bim10 games. He is also being questioned for not reporting suspicious offers and for refusing to help officials during their investigation.

Furthermore, the ICC has accused Jones of keeping secrets about offers to cheat. He is also suspected of hiding or changing evidence to get in the way of their official probe.

These claims are part of a larger crackdown, and the ICC hinted that more people might be charged soon. For now, Jones is banned from playing any cricket matches. He has until February 11, 2026, to give his side of the story. Until the case is finished, the cricket board will not say anything else.

The 31-year-old athlete has played 100 times for the United States national team. He is a well-known figure in T20 leagues, having played for the Seattle Orcas and the St Lucia Kings. In fact, he was the highest scorer when the Kings won the championship in 2024. His most recent appearance on the field was in November 2025 during a tournament in Abu Dhabi.
