Arjun Tendulkar hit this mark during a game against Maharashtra. With this achievement, he is moving closer to beating his father’s bowling record. Although Sachin was known for his incredible batting, he was also a skilled spin bowler, finishing his career with 71 wickets in first-class matches.
How is Arjun Tenudulkar performing in cricket?
So far, Arjun Tendulkar has collected a total of 50 wickets in top-level domestic games, with 13 of those coming from the current tournament. He still needs 21 more to catch up to his father, Sachin Tendulkar.
While Sachin is famous for his batting, he was also very effective with the ball. He ended his first-class career with 71 wickets. Looking at his global stats, Sachin took 46 wickets in Test matches and another 154 in One Day Internationals (ODIs).
Arjun Tendulkar has performed well in regional matches since starting his career with Goa in the 2022/23 season. In long-format cricket, he has already managed to take five wickets in a single innings. He is also talented with the bat, scoring a century against Rajasthan in his very first game for Goa.
How did Arjun Tenudlkar build his reputation in cricket?
Arjun has built his own reputation in the sport. He began his journey in Mumbai before moving to Goa, where he became a key player who can both bowl and bat. Back in 2021, the Mumbai Indians signed him for 20 lakh during the IPL auction, though a physical injury prevented him from playing that year.
Later, Mumbai Indians bought him again for 30 lakh during the 2022 auction. Arjun finally made his IPL debut in 2023 in a match against the Kolkata Knight Riders. He took two more wickets during that season, and Mumbai Indians decided to keep him for 2024. Before the 2026 season began, Arjun was moved from Mumbai Indians to the Lucknow Super Giants as part of a player trade.
Aside from his successes in multi-day matches, Arjun has also performed well in other formats. He has taken 26 wickets in 24 one-day (List A) matches. Additionally, he has dismissed 35 players in 29 short-format (T20) games so far.
