Bad news for SRH owner Kavya Maran before IPL 2026, star player may be ruled out due to…, name is…

Star player from Kavya Marna’s SRH, Pat Cummins, will miss the 2026 T20 World Cup due to injury. Although he was originally picked for the roster, updates during the matches against Pakistan revealed he hasn’t recovered enough to play. Consequently, Ben Dwarshuis has been brought in to fill his spot. This marks the second time in a row that Cummins is missing a major short-format global event. Furthermore, there are now doubts about whether he will show up for the 2026 Indian Premier League.

Pat Cummins plays for Kavya Maran’s Sunrisers Hyderabad

In the Indian league, Pat Cummins plays for Kavya Maran’s Sunrisers Hyderabad and serves as their front-runner. On Tuesday, the star athlete spoke with the press in Australia to share news about his healing progress and his plans for the 2026 season. Under his guidance, the Hyderabad squad managed to make it all the way to the championship round in 2024.

Pat Cummins’ back injury

The star player, who has dealt with spine problems for more than half a year, explained that his physical condition ruined his hopes of playing in the short-format global event.

“It was really unfortunate,” Cummins said. “I feel pretty good, just a minor setback and just ran out of time really. I’ll rest up for a few weeks and go from there.” This problem has sidelined him from most games, as the Australian fast bowler appeared in only one match during the recent series against England.

Will Pat Cummins play IPL?

Even with this hurdle, the player stays positive about getting better and potentially taking part in the Indian Premier league. He stated: “We’ll just be guided by my back,” he added. “We’ll have another scan in a few weeks, and if it’s good, then we’ll have a slow build-up. T20s are a little bit easier to get up for, that’s why I was so close to getting up for this World Cup.”
