Apple Watch Series 10 Larger Display, SE vs Galaxy Watch FE

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reports that the upcoming Apple Watch Series 10 could sport a significantly larger display compared to the current generation model. The smartwatch is expected to launch later this year, succeeding the Series 9 model unveiled in 2023. It may not include previously rumored features like the magnetic watch strap mechanism. Concurrently, Apple is reportedly developing a new Apple Watch SE model with a plastic body, aiming to rival Samsung’s latest Galaxy Watch FE model.

Gurman reports that the Watch Series 10 will feature a larger screen compared to the Series 9 model. The upcoming smartwatch is anticipated to be available in two size options, codenamed N217 and N218, with one of them reportedly sporting the bigger display.

The Cupertino company offers its largest smartwatch model, the Apple Watch Ultra 2, in a single 49mm size option with a 1.92-inch display. It remains uncertain if the Apple Watch Series 10 will introduce a larger display than the Watch Ultra 2, as recent leaked CAD renders indicate the Series 10 model might feature a 2-inch screen.

Gurman reports that the Apple Watch Series 10 will share the same processor as the third-generation Apple Watch Ultra model. While  Intelligence features are not anticipated to arrive on the company’s smartwatches soon, he mentions that the new chip will “prepare the foundation” for future artificial intelligence-powered capabilities.

Apple Watch SE Model

To compete with the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Watch FE, priced at $199 (approximately Rs. 16,600), the iPhone maker is reportedly developing a new Apple Watch SE model with a plastic body instead of aluminum.

They released an updated version of its Watch SE model in 2022, and a third-generation model could potentially debut later this year. It remains uncertain if the transition to a new material for the smartwatch chassis will lead to a lower price.
