While fans complain about Samsung being too conservative, the brand is always on the look out for new technologies and advancements that might be able to give them the edge in the smartphone segment. In a similar pursuit, the brand has recently filed a new Patent. It would be unfair to the capabilities of Samsung to consider this patent to be a normal one. The new tech revolves around the concept of a repositionable Camera system for the smartphones. The design seems to be targeted towards rollable display phones.

It was on Jan 10 2022, that Samsung filed the patent, but the company has received its approval just now.  A recent report that has been doing rounds over the internet has alleged that Samsung has been researching and experimenting with similar designs. While there has been great anticipation in the market for the new Fold 7, it seems the phone will soon be followed by a new phone that has a rollable screen layout with a repositionable camera set up. 

The Patent files have showcased that the new research is meant for phones as well as tablets. It allows the user to set the cameras on the front as well as the back of the device. The moving camera would allow the user to use the same camera for selfies as well as rear camera photos. 

While the new addition seems to promising its possible that it might not ever be included on a commercial phone. Its possible that Samsung uses the findings that it has reached working on the phone to help its previous products get better.

Samsung Fold 7 latest leaks

A recent report has established that the new phone would have an under-display camera. Samsung would have to engineer a way through which they can easily equip the phone chassis with a camera under the display. Although Samsung has not announced what kind of update the screen would go through it’s possible that the display might have a better resolution than what we have seen on the devices so far. 

Beyond the 200mp sensor, the other sensors would remain the same. It would be stuck with the same 12mp ultrawide camera and a 10mp telephoto as well as a 10 MP selfie camera on the outer clamshell surface. The Fold 7 would possibly launch in July alongside the Flip 7 as well.
