Smartphone Exports Soar Beyond Estimates- Crosses $21 Billion In Financial Year 2025 News24 –


The Accessible and investment conducive market in India has been able to attract profound investments from smartphone manufacturers over the years. The new manufacturing hubs in India operated by international brands have been able to satisfy the domestic needs of the users with ease and further expand the exports. As per a recent report smartphone sales in India have been able to cross the expected $21 billion in the Financial year 2025. As per analysis of the said figure it has been revealed that the newly established precedent is 54% higher than smartphone exports in the first 11 months of the previous financial year. The numbers have been revealed by the Cellular and Electronics Association Of India. 

Mobile phone exports from India crossed a steep Rs 1.75 trillion in the first 11 months of 2024-25. The number thus reached is higher than that of the number that was projected by the Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw. Who had estimated that the exports would be able to touch around $20 billion within the upcoming year. 

Previous Numbers

As per a previous report in February Government had revealed data that pledged that Electronics had surpassed Oil Products as India’s Second largest Export in January. The Production led Incentive scheme has been able to boost the exports and reduce the overall imports.  Domestic production has now been able to meet almost 99% of the India’s own mobile phone demand. Such schemes would further cement the emergence of further increased exports in the upcoming years. 

Apple’s increased iPhone Production In India has been able to drive this surge ahead as well, Apple has been one of the first formidable manufacturers who trusted the Indian diaspora for the advanced production stages of their new phones. As per previous reports iPhone exports from India are estimated at almost Rs1 lakh crore between April and January compared to Rs 60, 000 crore in the same period reported the previous year.  Beyond Apple Samsung has been able to add to the exports with close to about Rs 34,500 crore.
