Previous reports had suggested that the new Apple Foldable would have a liquid metal hinges that would provide it improved durability and also ensure that the phone witnesses minimal creases over time. Beyond that, a new Chinese leaker has further confirmed new details on the properties of the hinge material. 

As per the inputs provided by a Weibo account by the name of Instant Digital, Apple has chosen metallic glass( Amorphous Metal – Known for its high strength, elasticity, high corrosion resistance, often used in Electronics, Bio Medical Use, Sporting Goods, Defense, and Consumer Products) – Before the term surfaced the hinge was supposedly being crafted out of liquid metal which is often used as a synonym for the Amorphous Metal. 

Hinge To Now Be Made Out Of Amorphous Metals 

Unlike any other metals that are generally used in manufacturing these metals have a regular, and continuous atomic structure. Its Disordered arrangement of atomic structures provides it with the capabilities to be much more resistant to bending, deformation, and Denting. Apple seemingly wants to step beyond all their previous innovations and hence they are opting for metals that have even more tensile strength than that of the Titanium Alloy.

Beyond that the alloys would improve the overall appearance of the phone with a glossy finish that makes it appear similar to brushed stainless steel. As per the reports, Apple’s foldable iPhone would have a 7.8-Inch main display but the phone would also have a 5.5-inch cover display, the overall design of the new foldable device is alleged to be like that of a book style. It’s possible that the new iPhone might have Two rear cameras and a single front camera as well. The device could be just 4.5 mm thick when unfolded and between 9mm and 9.5 mm when closed. 

With such innovations the expected price of the phone is to sit at around 2000$ mark beyond that phone Apple is also supposedly working on a 18.8 inch foldable device as well.
