How to Play NYT Connections?
You will get a grid filled with words, and your goal is to find the hidden connections between them. Think about synonyms, antonyms, word families, etc., to crack the puzzle. If you want to make the right connections between the words, you will have to test your vocabulary and problem-solving skills. If you’re having trouble, there are helpful hints available in the game. Also, you can track your daily streak and overall progress, as well as challenge your friends or other players to find out who can solve the most puzzles.
You’ll receive a new puzzle every day at midnight. You can play the puzzle game on the NYT website or app. You’ll get a grid of 16 words and your goal is to organise them into four groups of four by determining the connections between them. Groups can be things like clickable items, names of participants in a research study, or words preceded by a body part.
Since there is only one solution to each puzzle, you need to be wary of words that might fit into more than one category. You can mix up words to potentially see the connections between them.
Each group is colour-coded with the yellow group being usually the easiest to guess, blue and green are in the middle, and the purple group is usually the hardest. The purple group usually contains wordplay.
Choose four words that you think go together and hit the ‘Submit’ button. If you guess and get it wrong, you lose a life. On the other hand, when you’re about to create a correct group, you might see a message letting you know that you’re just one word away from success, but you still have to decide which one to swap. If you make four mistakes, it’s game over.
