New Tata Tiago, Tigor & Nexon BS6 Bookings Open For Rs 11,000
Mumbai based Tata Motors has just announced that it has opened bookings for its new products portfolio. The company has opened bookings for refreshed, BS6 compliant models of the Tiago, the Tigor, and the Tata Nexon.
Tata Motors has officially begun to migrate towards BS6 engine formats with this announcement. The all-new Tiago, Tigor, and Nexon feature newer design elements, and are expect to be priced at a premium as compared to the outgoing models.
Bookings for the three cars can be made via the company’s website and via Tata’s authorized dealer network for an amount of Rs 11,000. All three models are expected to be showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo, and are expected to be launched in India around the time.
Mr. Mayank Pareek, the President of the Passenger Vehicles Business Unit at Tata Motors, said, “Tata Motors has been vigorously working towards a seamless transition to BS-VI. We are delighted to have reached this milestone and are elated to be the first in the business to announce the introduction of an entire range of BS-VI products at once.”
“This newly designed and refreshed range is in alignment with sustainability guidelines while still delivering segment leading performance. We hope that our new range will contribute towards a cleaner and greener India while providing innovative transport solutions to customers and industry alike,” he added.
The all new Tata Tiago is a more confident looking car. The hatchback will most likely continue to feature the digital instrument cluster, the seven-inch touchscreen infotainment, and automatic climate control, but will arrive with more luxurious looking interior.
While there is limited information about engine specs for the new Tiago, we expect the vehicle to feature the current 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine that produces 83bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. Power and performance figures will witness minor differences because of the BS6 upgrades.
The Tiago will arrive with a five-speed manual and a five-speed automatic transmission. The current-generation Tiago petrol models are priced between Rs 4.40 lakh and Rs 6.37 lakh (ex-showroom). Tata is expected to retire the current 1.0-litre diesel engine that powers the Tiago.
The new Tigor is expected to feature new upholstery, new soft-touch materials on the inside, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and an eight-speak audio system sourced from Harman.
The 2020 Tata Tigor is expected to feature the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron engine that produces 84bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. The engine will arrive with five-speed manual and five-speed automatic transmissions.
Again, the diesel models will not be available going forward. The current generation Tata Tigor petrol models are priced between Rs 5.50 lakh and Rs 7.45 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The 2020 Tata Nexon features new bumper and bonnet designs at the front, features new head lamps, a new slimmer grille, a re-designed set of fog lamps, and new DRLs.
While information about the interiors are close to none, we expect the new 2020 Nexon BS6 model to be feature, and creature comfort rich. The Nexon will be offered with both, petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol unit, and the 1.5-litre diesel unit from the current-generation models will continue to be offered, albeit in their BS6 formats.
Power and performance numbers currently stand at 108bhp of power/ 170Nm of torque, and 108bhp of power/ 260Nm of torque respectively. Transmission options will include a five-speed manual and a five-speed automatic. The current-generation Nexon models are pried between Rs 6.58 lakh and Rs 11.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
