Honda Amaze BS6 Models Launched In India Starting At Rs 6.10 Lakh Ex-Showroom

Honda Amaze BS6 models launched in India starting at Rs 6.10 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Petrol and diesel models are now between Rs 9,000 & Rs 17,000, and Rs 27,000 & Rs 51,000 more expensive than the outgoing BS4 compliant models.

The Amaze BS6 petrol models feature a 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine that produces the same 90bhp of power and 110Nm of torque as the BS4 compliant models. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission.

However, maintaining similar power and performance figures have reduced fuel efficiency by roughly one kilometer to the litre. The Honda BS6 Amaze offers ARAI certified efficiency of 18.6 kilometers per litre as compared to the 19.5 kilometers the BS4 variants were offering.

The Honda Amaze BS6 diesel models feature a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo that has a (NSC) Nitrogen-Oxygen Storage Catalyst, and a diesel particulate filter. Power and performance figures stand at 100bhp/ 200Nm of torque when mated to a manual transmission, and 80bhp/ 160Nm of torque with the CVT automatic.

Effiency however has dropped by 2.7 kilometers to the litre for the BS6 diesel MT models, and by 2.8 kilometers for the BS6 diesel CVT models. The outgoing BS4 compliant models offered 27.4 kilometers, and 23.8 kilometers to the litre respectively.

Honda has not made any other changes to the vehicle, mechanical or otherwise. The new Honda Amaze BS6 compliant models are priced between Rs 6.10 lakh and Rs 9.66 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

In an additional drive to save capital, Honda also chose not to participate at the upcoming Auto Expo. The company plans to reinvest the capital saved into sale over the next couple of years.
