Indian-American doctor covers self in flight, commits ‘lewd act’ next to 14-yr-old girl
New Delhi: An Indian-American doctor has been held in Boston of US allegedly for masturbating while sitting next to a 14-year-old girl onboard a flight. The incident took place in May last year in a flight from Honolulu to Boston.
The 33-year-old Sudipta Mohanty was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and was charged for comitting lewd acts when a minor girl was sitting beside him.
The agency said that the act committed by Mohanty is ‘reprehensible.’ It warned others with the ill intentions to know that “FBI takes crimes abroad aircraft seriously.”

A press release issued by the FBI informed that Mohanty was travelling with a female companion while the victim girl was with her grandfather in the flight. After a while when the flight was halfway through, the girl observed the accused covering himself with a blanket but his feet were bouncing up and down.
The release further said that in a while the blanket fell off but the accused continued the act and it was revealed that he was masurbating all this time. As he did not stop, she shifted to an empty seat in another row.
The girl informed her parents about the incident as soon as she landed. The parents then, informed tha law enforcement following the legal action.
He was charged of lewd, indecent and obscene acts, also attracting up to 90 days in prison, up to one year of supervised release and a fine of up to $5,000.
