Egypt Holds 2 Israelis For Alleged Assault On Hotel Workers


Egypt: The Egyptian prosecution has ordered the detention of two Israeli citizens for assaulting three hotel workers in Taba, a Red Sea town near the Israeli border, according to Egyptian security sources on Sunday.

The two Israelis, charged with assault and displaying force, will be held in custody for four days while investigations continue, the sources said.

On Friday, a fight at a hotel in Taba left three Arab Israeli tourists and two Egyptian hotel workers injured.

Egypt: Hotel Brawl Erupts Over Payment Dispute

Egyptian security sources reported that a physical fight broke out after an Arab Israeli tourist verbally insulted an Egyptian hotel employee, leading to a confrontation involving other tourists and staff members.

Worker Seriously Injured

Egypt’s state-affiliated Al-Qahera News TV reported that one of the Egyptian workers was seriously injured. The fight reportedly began when several tourists refused to pay for hotel services.
